From Volunteer to Teacher: The Inspiring Journey of Bishnu Saru

At Samridha Commune Development Center (SCDC Nepal), we believe that volunteering is not only about giving time — it is about creating opportunities, building confidence, and transforming lives. The story of Bishnu Saru beautifully reflects this belief.

A Journey That Began with Purpose

In Ashoj 2081, Bishnu Saru joined SCDC’s Green Project as a volunteer facilitator. From the very beginning, she showed strong dedication and passion for working with young people. While guiding the school’s green group, she also chose to teach voluntarily at Khadga Secondary School, Devdaha-1, driven by her genuine love for children and her desire to make a meaningful difference.

One Year of Selfless Contribution

For one full year, Bishnu devoted her time, energy, and care without expecting anything in return. She supported students in their learning while also encouraging environmental awareness, teamwork, and confidence through green activities.

Through volunteering, Bishnu herself experienced significant personal and professional growth. She was able to:

  • Build practical teaching and facilitation skills
  • Strengthen her communication and leadership abilities
  • Develop greater self-confidence and classroom experience
  • Deepen her commitment to community service

Her dedication inspired not only students but also teachers and community members.

Recognition and a New Opportunity

Bishnu’s hard work and sincerity were soon recognized. In appreciation of her contribution, Khadga Secondary School offered her a paid teaching position, marking an important milestone in her journey. This achievement clearly shows how purpose-driven volunteering can create real pathways for employment and professional development.

Today, Bishnu continues to serve as a volunteer facilitator with SCDC Nepal, balancing her teaching responsibilities with her passion for community engagement and environmental education.

Words of Gratitude

SCDC Nepal would like to express heartfelt thanks to the Principal and the entire team of Khadga Secondary School, Devdaha-1, for their trust, encouragement, and continuous support in nurturing young volunteers and creating opportunities for growth. Their collaboration has played a vital role in empowering youth like Bishnu and strengthening green initiatives within the school.

Inspiring Change Through Volunteering

Bishnu Saru’s journey reminds us that when young people are given meaningful opportunities to contribute, they can transform both their own lives and their communities.

At SCDC Nepal, we remain committed to supporting such inspiring journeys — building greener schools, confident youth, and resilient communities.
